These hardy evergreen plants are native to South Africa. Male and female flowers are borne on separate plants during winter and spring. The clusters of small flowers are surrounded by colourful showy bracts in yellow, cream, green or dark red shades. They are valued as cut flowers because of their long vase-life, long stems and striking appearance. They thrive in a well-drained position in fullsun.
