Dodonaea viscosa ssp. viscosa

Commonly called 'Hopbush' because of the colourful fruits resembling the fruits used in brewing. It is a hardy, fastgrowing, evergreen tree up to 3 m high. Small, yellow-green flowers appear from spring through to autumn. Flowers are followed by green winged fruit capsules in summer. They require a light, well-drained soil in a sunny position. A purple foliaged form is also available. Most will tolerate moderate frosts and withstand extended dry conditions.
