A sprawling native prostrate
shrub that will cover some 2 m
or more in area under coastal/
harsh conditions. It may spread
to a diameter of 4 m or so in a
protected, well watered area. It
has round, grey-green to silvery
foliage, which also has a quite
noticeable spicy fragrance. Its
2–3 cm orchid-like flowers are
a rich blue-purple and produced
in clusters at the tips of branches
throughout the year and adapts
well to garden planting.
